As I watch the bees around me decline from the cold winter months, I have begun an examination of the hives left behind. The beauty within the form and function that these creatures create is awe-inspiring and an act in which I strive to achieve. Artist and beekeeper Ren Ri works with his hive of insects to create a collaboration of sculptures. Ri constructs geometric glass enclosures and places the queen inside for a re-population effort. Together this cross-species partnership creates pristine organic forms out of crisp structural lines.
